The shadow self is an aspect of the self often villainized and misunderstood. An aspect of the self that operates within shadow, under the cover of darkness, making it difficult to see clearly. This spread shines light on this part of the self. It is not necessarily an easy reading to sit through, as it tends to point out our less flattering qualities, the things we don't like to admit or hear. However, the purpose is to bring love, acceptance and empathy to these parts of ourselves. In this way we are able to become more of who we wish to be and less of what we don't.
